Almanac ...

Rooster Call :

Wet, windy and very mild again, here at Carrowcrory, but a new weather pattern seems to start kicking in tomorrow.  USA tour arrangements, again, take priority today, and hopefully a bit of writing later as deadlines loom.

What is your inspiration creating right now? :-)

Weather :

Going to 13C, 57F today, barely heard of for January in Ireland, but short lived. There it is, sinking into a cold spell from next Tuesday with arrival of snow that could continue until Wednesday evening, as forecasted way back in October, followed by some of those beautiful crispy sunny days too. This cold blast still looks like lasting until after Brighid's Day and Imbolc when there could be another snow blast..

Moon :

80%  waning moon ....  at Carrowcrory Ireland ... rises 9:45 pm, sets 10:22 am
sunrise 8:49 am, sunset 4:31 pm

Celebration :

Plough Monday
Though not known about much these days, the last of the Yule season celebrations happens next Monday, Plough Monday. It's really an Eastern England tradition, especially around the Fens, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and East Yorkshire. Origins seem to come from the Danes, through ancient Danelaw ... but fragments have spread or integrated around Scotland and even Ireland.

Plant Medicine :

Some cultures believe that 'shamans' talents include can summon spirits to be present and cure illness. In many cultures these 'shamans' are actually trained with various medicine men and women, in all kinds of medical fields including what we may describe as herbal and pharma. Many of these 'shamans' starting this education at about 10 years old.

Being open and accepting to all kinds of different medical and sustaining health approaches their way of of thinking about health, illness, life, death and the world in general is completely different to the approach of many medical and healing people we know.

This is a very interesting article of viewing this from Peru and other South American experiences.
